Charlotte Mullenix James, 73, of Windermere, FL and formerly of Midland, Texas passed away on August 1, 2017 at Florida Hospital Celebration in Celebration, Florida with her loving family by her side.
Charlotte was born on January 28, 1944 in Lubbock, Texas, the daughter of the late George Mullenix and Sarah (Jackson) Mullenix. She grew up in Carlsbad, New Mexico where she graduated high school. Charlotte lived in Hobbs, New Mexico for many years and then Midland, Texas where she worked in the Hospitality industry, as a Restaurant Manager and a Concierge. She enjoyed shopping and decorating her home. Charlotte devoted a lot of her time to helping raise her grandson who has special needs. Her family was very important to her. Charlotte was a loving mother, grandmother and friend.
She is survived by three children: Betsy Sheppard and husband, John of Washington, Stacy Edwards and husband, Andrew of Windermere, FL and Jerry James and wife, Soo of Midland, TX; four grandchildren: Zachary Luna and Austin Edwards of Windermere, FL, Dillon James and wife, Torii, of Austin, TX and Jessica Hopkins and husband, Zsavi of NM; two great grandchildren: Lilly-Ann James and Ryleigh-Lynn James of Austin, TX; one brother: Don Mullenix and wife, Grace of Leesburg, FL; nephew: John Mullenix of St. Petersburg, FL; two nieces: Donna Cocca and husband, Jon and Linda Lyman and husband, Rick of California.
A graveside service is scheduled for 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Sunset Gardens Memorial Park, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com
